On Sunday, 26 June 1994 a one mile long rainbow flag was unfurled along First Avenue

for the International March on the United Nations to Affirm the Human Rights

of Lesbian and Gay People. When the March was over the one mile long rainbow flag

was devided among representatives of every country present. Still today in 2006,

in Belgium a part of this one mile long flag is carried each year in

the Belgian Lesbian and Gay Pride.
