Human Nature

A Human Ecological Documentary Photography Project

by Dimitri Devuyst

Human Nature is an ongoing photography project which reflects on the one hand on human nature, and on the other hand on how human activities and nature are intertwined, how human settlements are part of the natural ecosystems in which they emerge, and how human beings take care of the environment in which they live. Photos are placed in a human ecological context. Human ecology examines the interactions between human beings and their surroundings, aiming for a holistic understanding of environmental and social systems.
